A very unique red wine made predominantly from the rare Fogliatonda grape together with Canaiolo and small amount of Sangiovese and Colorino. Fogliatonda, a son of Sangiovese, used to be widely grown in Tuscany but was nearly eradicated when farmers reduced the number of plantings to make space for Sangiovese. There are only 20 hectares planted in total, and Giulio from Montalbino holds one of the largest plantings to dedicate to this grape. This beautifully expressive elegant wine has won the Slow Wine Top Wine Award for the last 2 years for it's quality and territorial identity. Pronounced notes of deep red berries and stewed cherries together with fresh herbs and red rose. On the palate the fine tannins give way to an extremely soft and clean mouthfeel and long finish.
